Carry extra luggage, or add a roof bike carrier or kayak mount for your favorite outdoor adventures.  This post is to highlight the fact that Thule is currently recommending the LB58 inch load bars for this vehicle.  The load bars used for this particular installation are LB50 50 inch load bars.  Photos below show the amount of excess bar beyond the foot attachment, typically, Thule will recommend the shortest length load bar that will work for a given installation, however, in this case 50 inch is the shortest.  The LB58 inch load bars would extend an additional four inches on both sides and pose a potential hazard for those entering and exiting the vehicle with the excess bar protruding.

Here's a Nissan Frontier what was origninally equipped with the complete Nissan installed Utili-Track system.  Thule doesn't offer adapters that work with the Utili-Track system so in order to attach the Thule 422XT Xsporter the side bedrail tracks must be removed.  The Utili-Tracks are easily removed using a hollow point torx wrench.  It is also possible to cut down the aluminum tracks and reattach sections in areas away from the Xsporter bedrail mounting hardware.

The Thule 422XT - Xsporter Workman Adjustable Truck Rack is a five position, height adjustable truck bed rack system thoughtfully designed to maximize the load capacity of pickup trucks. Raise the load bars up to 28.5 inches from bed rail to the top of the cross bar.
